THE CRIMINAL CODE AMENDMENT ACT OF 1913 (No.2)

CRIMINAL LAW


An Act to Amend Sections 213, 215, 216, 352,
578, and 701 of "The Criminal Code."


[ASSENTED TO 26TH NOVEMBER, 1913.]


BE it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembly, and by the authority of the same, as follows:-


Short title.


1. This Act may be cited as "The Criminal Code Amendment Act of 1913 (No.2)," and shall be read as one with "The Criminal Code "*


Age of Consent, Etc.


2. "The Criminal Code"* is amended as follows:-


Amendment of s.213.

(i.) In the second and fourth paragraphs of section two hundred and thirteen, the word "fourteen" is repealed, and the word "seventeen" is inserted in lieu thereof;


Amendment of s.215

(ii.) In subsection one and in the second paragraph of section two hundred and fifteen, and in the cross-heading to the said section, the word "fourteen" is repealed, and the word "seventeen" is inserted in lieu thereof:


In the third paragraph of the said section, the word "two" is repealed, and the word "six" is inserted in lieu thereof;


Amendment of s.216

(iii.) In the first and third paragraphs of section two hundred and sixteen, and in the cross-heading to the said section, the word "fourteen" is repealed, and the word "seventeen" is inserted in lieu thereof;


Amendment of s.332

(iv) In the first and second paragraphs of section three hundred and fifty-two, and in the cross-heading to the said section, the word "sixteen" is repealed, and the words "seventeen" is inserted in lieu thereof;


Amendment of s.578.

(v) In paragraph (c) of section five hundred and seventy-eight, the word "fourteen" is repealed, and the word "seventeen" is inserted in lieu thereof;


Amendment of s.701.

(vi) In the first paragraph of section seven hundred and one, and in the cross-heading to the said section, the word "sixteen" is repealed, and the words "twenty-one" are inserted in lieu thereof.
