AN ACT TO AMEND THE CUSTOMS ACT 1993 (NO. 13 OF 1993)

Short title

1. This Act may be cited as the Customs (Amendment) Act 2001.

Amendment of section 4

2. Section 4(1) of the Customs Act 1993 is amended by repealing the "Beretitenti" and substituting "the Minister".

CUSTOMS (AMENDMENT) ACT 2001

EXPLANATORY MEMORANDUM

This very short Bill seeks to amend the Customs Act 1993 by repealing the word "Beretitenti" and substituting it with "Minister". The Minister who is being referred to here is the Minister of Finance who is also the Minister responsible for the time being for Customs matters.
