The Solomon Islands Law Reform Commission is a statutory body set up to review the laws of Solomon Islands. The SILRC makes recommendations to the Government about how the law should be changed.

 

News

In 2010 the SILRC will continue to work on two references

  • The review of the Penal Code and Criminal Procedure Code; and

  • The review of law that applies to land below high water mark and low water mark.

The SILRC will continue to conduct consultation on both of these references, as well as release further consultation papers for the review of the Penal Code and Criminal Procedure Code.  Draft recommendations covering some parts of the Penal Code will be completed during 2010.
