TRAFFIC (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1997

AN ACT

TO AMEND THE TRAFFIC ACT

ENACTED by the Parliament of Fiji -

Short title

1. This Act may be cited as the Traffic (Amendment) Act, 1997.

Commencement

2. This Act shall come into force on the day of its publication in the Fiji Republic Gazette.

Section "3" amended

3. Section "3" of the Traffic Act is amended by inserting the following provision immediately after subsection "(7)"-

"(8) A member of the Authority other than a member who is appointed to serve on the Authority by virtue of his official position or duties, may receive such remuneration in respect of his services on the Authority and may be paid and receive such allowances for travelling and subsistence and in such circumstances as may from time to time be determined by the Minister."

Passed by the House of Representatives this nineteenth day of February, in the year of our Lord one thousand, nine hundred and ninety-seven.

Passed by the Senate this twenty seventh day of February, in the year of our Lord one thousand, nine hundred and ninety-seven.
