AN ACT
TO INCREASE STAMP DUTIES ON CERTAIN TRANSACTIONS

ENACTED by the Parliament of the Fiji Islands-

Short title

1. This Act may be cited as the Stamp Duties (Budget Amendments) Act 1999.

Schedule

2. Part I of the Schedule to the Stamp Duties Act (Cap. 205) is amended-

(a) in the second column of the item "ASSIGNMENT OR ORDERS" by deleting "50c" where it twice appears and substituting "$1.00";

(b) in the second column of the item "MORTGAGE" by deleting "50c" where it 4 times appears and substituting "$1.00";

(c) in the second column of the item "TRANSFER" by deleting "50c" where it twice appears and substituting "$1.00".

Passed by the House of Representatives this 2nd day of December 1999.

Passed by the Senate this 9th day of December 1999.
