AN ACT

FOR AN ACT TO AMEND THE PRESCRIPTION OF SALARIES ACT

ENACTED by the Parliament of Fiji-

Short title

1. This Act may be cited as the Prescription of Salaries (Amendment) Act 1998.

Interpretation

2. In this Act, "Principal Act" means the Prescription of Salaries Act, (Cap. 2).

Commencement

3.-(1) Subject to subsections (2) and (3), this Act comes into operation on the date of publication in the Gazette.

(2) Section 4 is to have effect as if this Act had been published on 1st January, 1997.

(3) Section 5 is to have effect as if this Act had been published on 1st January 1998.

Schedule replaced

4. The Schedule to the Principal Act is deleted and replaced by the following-

Passed by the House of Representatives this Twentieth day of March, in the year of our Lord, One Thousand, Nine Hundred and Ninety-Eight.

Passed by the Senate this Eighth day of April, in the year of our Lord One Thousand, Nine Hundred and Ninety-Eight.
