An Act to amend the Transport Act 1966 to make provision for the appointment of Registrars and Deputy Registrars of Motor Vehicles

BE IT ENACTED by the Parliament of the Cook Islands in Session assembled and by the authority of the same, as follows:

1. Short Title - This Act may be cited as the Transport Amendment (No.3) Act 2008 and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Transport Act 1966 (herein after referred to as "the principal Act").

2. Registrar of Motor Vehicles and Deputy Registrars - Section 6 of the principal Act is amended by deleting subsection (3) and substituting the following new subsection -

"(3) The Registrar appointed pursuant to subsection (1) may delegate to any other person who may be specified by name or by office, all or any of the functions of the Registrar under this Part II or Part III and may at any time revoke such delegation."
