PJDP homepageThe Pacific Judicial Development Program (PJDP) is intended to strengthen governance and the rule of law in 15 participating Pacific Island Countries:
This will be achieved through a range of activities which will enhance the competence of judicial and court officers and improve the systems and processes they use. The Program will run for at least five years commencing in January 2007 and is jointly supported by AusAID and NZAID. The PJDP comprises four components:
The PJDP is overseen by the Program Executive Committee comprising: Chief Justice Patu F. M. Sapolu, Samoa (temporary Chairperson) and represents senior judicial officers across Polynesia. You can contact Chief Justice Sapolu here. Chief Justice Andon Amaraich, FSM represents senior judicial officers across Micronesia. You can contact Chief Justice Amaraich here. Chief Justice Vincent Lunabek, Vanuatu is currently taking the place of Sir Mari, and will in the meantime represent Melanesia. The Chief Justice can be contacted here. Mr. John Kenning, Snr Justice of the Peace, Cook Islands and represents the lay judiciary and magistracy across all participating Pacific Island countries. You can contact JK here.
